Bio

For over 20 years, Joshua C. Hylton has been serving the Oil and Gas Industry as a Professional Landman.  During this time, he has utilized strong management skills to analyze, plan, coordinate and implement programs and procedures consistent with the culture, management style and business goals of his clients.  In 2011, he formed Capstone Land Company, a full-service Oil and Gas Land Company, in Mustang, Oklahoma, serving all facets of the Oil and Gas Industry.  As President, he leads and mentors a talented team of land professionals and attorneys, while overseeing the day-to-day operations of his company.  He also serves as an expert witness at the Oklahoma Corporation Commission.  In addition, Joshua is the Managing Member of Whiteacre Minerals, LLC, an Oklahoma mineral investment company, specializing in mineral acquisitions and divestitures.  He is a member of the Oklahoma Association of Professional Landmen, as well as the American Association of Professional Landmen.

Joshua got his start in the land business at a young age and began working as a Landman at the age of 19.  Coming from limited means, the land business presented certain benefits that were otherwise unattainable for him at the time.  Through his “learn something new every day” constant and generous work ethic, he developed a deep love for his field of business and garnered the respect of his peers.  Joshua was fortunate, in his early career, to have worked beside some great mentors, one of whom counselled “Focus on the work and the money will come.”  It was this advice to which he attributes his success in the field.

Joshua, and his wife Lindsey, have been residents of Mustang, Oklahoma since 2006 and have two sons.  Joshua loves the game of baseball, and when not fully consumed by his work, Joshua enjoys coaching the two Little League Baseball teams for which his sons play.  He feels that through baseball, children learn life lessons like teamwork, community, perseverance and work ethic, that will remain with them into adulthood.  He takes great pride in being a rung on the ladder of their lives and hopes they all, regardless of their ability, take with them a shared love of the game.
